Bio:I started out trying to make it as a singer in Nashville where I met a man who said he could do something for me, so I helped him try to organize a factory while he tried to buy a club for me to sing in. I never found out whether these efforts were inter-related, or whether there was even a drop of truth in anything he ever told me for that matter. Ultimately I found the situation deteriorating into gunplay with his enemies. He wanted me to carry his weapon in my handbag because he was being searched sometimes and he felt uncomfortable without a firearm. I got the feeling he really wanted to shoot someone.

Turning my back on music completely was the only way to control the compulsion to play and play and play. I didn't think it was going to be possible, but I did it. I got out of there, finished college, and moved to Boston.

I got into sailing through my husband. Jerry was the big factor in my shift from suffering bastard to complacent dreamer. He's a sailor and a true Roman, probably from aeons past in classical antiquity, a profound man with perspective and adventure and taste. Knowing him made the first world of difference in my life, and saved my soul.

We've put out a CD. Miraculously, music found a way of coming back to me. Turns out I gave it up completely, but not forever. To me, it was worth waiting for it because I found my own voice.

This CD is the concept album of a piece for musical theater called "Harrier Angel -- rock remedy for the re generation." We released it at a Concert Reading on the Summer Solstice just this past June, and I've had some great feedback so far. A producer at Rounder Records told me just last week that ten years ago they would have been able to do something with it, but today you need a full touring schedule and marketing plan in place before they can even consider it.

Guess I have my work cut out for me.

My reasons for starting to blog are that I enjoy reading blogs myself and think maybe this is a good thing to do to help get the word out. I want to follow through with marketing the CD, to see if the show can become everything that seems possible, in consideration of all the excellent and wonderful artists and especially the great music director who worked with such dedication and fearlessness to create the CD.

Even more impressively, they got the concert up it after just one rehearsal. It took so long to finish the disc that most of them hadn't worked on it for three years or more, yet they played the entire piece -- literally play the ass off of it, I might add, at the drop of a hat. I am told my stuff sounds a lot like mainstream rock, country, pop, rhythem and blues but is actually quite a bit more difficult to play. Most of them are Berklee alums and staff, so they should know. Live, they were just incredible. The concert soundtrack is so good we can literally release that, too, as a live recording. I'm just unbelievably proud and privileged to know them and be able to work with them.

I hope readers will help me stay focussed and demand to know how it's going, because that will help keep me on the the straight and narrow path of parallel lines that must converge at infinity. I mean I want more than anything to keep it coming and make sure everyone shares the stories, so it can achieve its full potential. That would be my idea of infinity.
